Approach

Learning to change and grow is a life-changing experience.

To enable this process to occur, the alliance between client and counsellor/coach provides the basis for the work ahead. It fosters a safe and supportive environment that allows one to explore life’s challenges in a constructive and non-judgemental manner. At Mindhaus, we believe that the quality of the relationship very much determines the outcome of the work.

The ability to explore one’s life in this environment, allows for a deeper and more meaningful way to achieve self-awareness. When awareness occurs, change follows as it spreads to everything that we do, thus strengthening and reaffirming our sense of self.

At Mindhaus, we’re experienced with working with a wide range of client-specific requirements. Although we work in a pluralistic manner utilising methods from a plethora of psychotherapeutic modalities and coaching approaches in our practice, it is the existential approach with its philosophical underpinnings encompassing universal human concerns that informs our interventions and assists in understanding the client’s unique lived experience and respective challenges. This allows the work to focus on the client rather than solely on the presenting symptoms or issues being experienced. Equally, we believe that being skilled in counselling and coaching can provide the right levels of support to clients either struggling to integrate experiences and feelings from the past or towards focusing on their aspirations and achievement of specific goals in the future.

We treat our work with clients as a shared journey. This starts with establishing a deep connection that enables the work to begin and continues until the client achieves self-awareness, which allows them to reflect and decide on the best way forward. The ability to freely choose the direction they want their lives to take, ultimately makes clients responsible for their own destiny and empowers them through their choices.

If you feel like you’re in need of a helping hand with realising your potential or you’re struggling to understand or resolve some aspects of your life, and need someone with whom you can share this with in a way that helps you see yourself and others clearer, then this service is for you. Our time together can help with finding a more effective way to live a fuller and more meaningful life.

Ioannes Alexiades

PGDip, BSc, MA, MSc, MBACP (Accred), EMCC (EIA, Senior Practitioner, ESIA Accredited Supervisor)

Ioannes is a dual practicing integrative coach therapist, clinical supervisor, lecturer, and facilitator. His focus is on helping individuals achieve a more balanced and fulfilled life, enabling couples to improve their relationship with their loved ones, assisting senior executives with their professional development and providing supervision and tuition to those in further training.

He came to counselling as a second career having spent over two decades working as a consultant in the corporate sector. It was during this period that he gained extensive experience of mentoring and coaching others. However, it was his own personal experience of therapy after experiencing work-related burnout and a mid-life crisis which was transformational, that ultimately allowed him to pursue counselling and psychotherapy as a career alongside his coaching practice.

He started his counselling training at the Metanoia Institute in London before embarking on a Doctorate Programme at NSPC/Middlesex University. Subsequently, he has completed further studies at the University of East London (UEL) on their leading-edge Integrative Counselling and Coaching postgraduate programme. His psychotherapy and integrative training has given his coaching more depth, as he has noticed an increasing number of executives in his coaching practice requiring therapy for various mental health related challenges similar to the ones he had once experienced.

Since setting up Mindhaus, he has worked with charities, public and private sector organisations, and academic institutions such as the NHS, Terrence Higgins Trust, Dilemma Consultancy, HealthyYou, UEL and Roehampton University. Currently, he provide coaching and therapy services to individuals through his private practice and works with senior executives through high impact Aspiring Leadership Programmes. Additionally, he provides clinical supervision, lecturing and facilitation in an academic setting to individuals undergoing postgraduate training.

He is an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP), a senior coaching practitioner and accredited supervisor certified by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC). In addition, he works as an executive member of the Coaching Division and Chair of the Supervision Special Interest Group of the BACP. His private practice is adequately insured and he is registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to ensure that his practice complies to the highest standards of data protection and client confidentiality.

He believe that he has reached a point in his life, where his work and life experience coupled with his counselling and coaching related training have equipped him with the skills, tool and insight to focus his energy and time on helping you get back on track.
